It is National Philanthropy Day, a day to celebrate philanthropy and philanthropists’ impact on our communities. If philanthropy is loving people, then voting is the purest act of love.

This 4th of July, let us start living up to our collective declaration of independence and freedom. Later this month, the National NAACP is convening in Boston.

Yesterday, just ten days after Juneteenth, came the sobering realization that we may be at the beginning of the dismantling of reparations. This is not just about race. Gender, culture, identity and other isms will follow, because they won’t have to see us anymore.

As we approach Juneteenth, a significant day in our nation's history commemorating the end of slavery, we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge its importance and share some relevant legislative updates.
